Settling in??

I'd like to say my lack of posts have been due to settling down, but the truth is that we can't really settle in until we get our house hold goods. That's supposedly on October 9th. I guess I should be grateful it's that soon because I've met a few people who had to wait 3-4 months for theirs.

So, I did want to mention that I'm having a hard time grasping the cost of living here. On post, at the commissary, a gallon of milk is just under $5. Meat is on sale at just under $4/lb. fruits and veggies are also quite expensive. So, it's been hard for me to be motivated to eat healthy. Koreans eat really healthy, but I can't read Korean so I dunno what to buy at their stores lol. I need to figure that out. Food isn't cheap at their grocery stores either. So, I need to learn to not freak out about having to spend a lot in groceries. That is, in fact, why we get a COLA right? Ours isn't updated yet haha. There is so much to do for in processing and it's all paperwork, some of which relies on others to sign before it can be processed (mainly financial changes).

We have been meeting a lot of great people though. We had a really fun BBQ with people from the dental clinic. It was a lot of fun to meet and get to know all those that Matt is working with, along with their families. We were also invited to a BBQ on Sunday at our neighbors where we met other military couples we wouldn't otherwise meet. If max isn't still sick, I'll be going with those ladies to get a pedicure tomorrow. We have also had a couple do dinners with branch families, plus an RS activity so I'm getting to know people kind of. The introvert in me is having a hard time making phone calls to initiate anything with any of them though. It's time for me to step out of my comfort zone.

There is still a lot to do though. One weighing in my mind is the NEO packet. That's basically a binder that has all our stuff together in case of evacuation. We are also supposed to have bags together to go as well, but since we don't have our stuff yet we only need one bag. I started to do it, but don't understand half the stuff written in it. Since there was the shooting scare with North Korea right before we got here, I just feel it's important to get all of this in order.

Anyway, it's late and I need to go to bed, but I'm sure I'll have more to update later.
