Happy 4th birthday Harper!

So, since we just got here and don't know very many people, Harper couldn't really have a "normal" birthday. We didn't buy her any gifts beforehand besides some lalaloopsy diapers we found on sale. She did have a gift from Jaime and Claire all wrapped up. Thanks you guys! So, we decided to go out and experience Seoul. The first thing we did was go to the zoo, which was really cheap. It cost about $6 for Matt and I and for some reason the kids were free. It was awesome though! The animals were a lot more active than in Seattle.

Flamingos

The giraffes were fun to watch

I don't remember what those are, but I hadn't seen them before.

A gorilla striking a pose for us.

This baboon was following the kids around.

A hippo

Can't go to the zoo without seeing the elephants.

The Seals and dolphins were the real treat though. It was an awesome little show to watch.

This is when they tried to splash us.

They waved goodbye

An anteater

An anaconda

The Tigers getting up close and personal, which was pretty cool.

After walking all the way to the top of the park (I got my 10,000 steps before then), we decided to take the sky ride down to the parking lot.

I meant to out this one up with the Dolphins, but I couple of them did some flips. I'll try to upload the videos later.

After the zoo we went into the city. We parked the car at dragon hill lodge on post in yongsan and took a taxi to the Dogdaemun market area. We were looking for the "toy and stationary" market. I had found it in another blog and we wanted Harper to be able to pick out a toy or two for her birthday. We soon realized, after stopping and taking a few pics, that we had the taxi drop us off in the wrong spot and had quite a walk to get to the toy stores.

We found the one toy store she has blogged about, just to find it ain't as inexpensive as we thought. BUT, we found a few more stores with much better prices. This is what she ended up with. All of that, minus the blanket, cost about 40,000 won ($35). The blanket was 20,000 won, but she needed some bedding.

I put together the little mini mouse Lego block thing. It's definitely not for kids her age... Too hard to put together for her age. It's going to just be a decoration for now. I actually really like them and think we will collect some.

These were some of the bigger pieces.
