Suwon fortress

On Columbus Day we went to the Suwon  Fortress. It was such a beautiful day and area. We hiked along most of the wall, made tons of stops for pictures, went to a beautiful temple, I'm not sure for which religion, and then to a palace that King Joeng would visit during his reign. It was very interesting to see how the lived. I've been to palaces in Europe and they are so different. They are less gaudy here for sure with such a different lifestyle.  I love learning about and seeing new cultures.
This was the best double rainbow I'd ever seen. It was the day before this trip
This is part of the wall going which makes up the fortress
 Cute little door
This is the very top of the Fortress

 Random semi hidden door
We got to ring the bell. It's huge!

One of the many stops along the way. This was a lookout point and at one point was a temporary headquarters for something (I don't remember).
A Temple next to the palace, in the fortress I believe

This was the palace one of the King's had built for visits
What a guard would have looked like
They had lots of rooms depicting what it would have looked like.

These are sleeping quarters....like the second story
